RAISING CHAMPIONS FROM GHANA TO THE WORLD
The 2026 Champions League delivered unforgettable moments, incredible talent, and nonstop excitement from start to finish. What a tournament it was! From the 20th to the 25th of April, the coastal city of Sekondi-Takoradi came alive with the thunder of young feet, the roar of passionate crowds, and the infectious energy that only Ghana's most beloved youth football tournament can produce. The Essipong Stadium was more than a venue it was a stage, and our young champions owned every inch of it.
This year's theme, 'Raising Champions: From Ghana to The World', was not just a tagline. It was a declaration. A bold, proud statement that the talent nurtured on these green pitches has what it takes to shine on the global stage. And after what we witnessed in Takoradi, there is absolutely no doubt about it.
A PERFORMANCE POWERED BY DISCIPLINE AND TEAMWORK
The road to the final was nothing short of spectacular. 16 formidable schools emerged from across Ghana arrived at Essipong Stadium with a singular goal to return home victorious, with the trophy held high. The competition was fierce, with teams showcasing the energy, drive, and dedication that made every match a compelling spectacle.
From the playoffs to the semi-finals, the intensity never let up. The grand finale brought together two determined teams who embodied the true spirit of grassroots football. Facing Kwabenya Atomic Basic School, Nkawkaw Salvation Army broke the deadlock in the first half, taking a deserved lead and applying relentless pressure. Kwabenya responded with courage and resilience, pushing forward in search of an equaliser but Nkawkaw's discipline held firm. In the second half, they doubled their advantage with a well-executed goal, sealing a commanding 2–0 victory and confirming their status as the 2026 MILO® Champions.
COMMITMENT TO INCLUSIVITY AND EMPOWERMENT
The MILO® Champions League has always been more than a football tournament it is a platform where every child, regardless of background or physical ability, has the opportunity to step into the spotlight and shine. This year at Essipong, our differently abled Champs took to the stage and showed Ghana exactly what unstoppable looks like.
The performances from across all categories were nothing short of inspiring. These young athletes reminded us of all that the transforming power of sport belongs to everyone and that when we invest in every child, we all win. Because that is what MILO® has always believed: that sport is a great teacher, and the values it instils in our children will help them succeed not just on the pitch, but in every chapter of their lives.
We firmly believe that sport encourages young athletes to become the very best versions of themselves, fostering resilience, leadership, and a sense of camaraderie that lasts a lifetime.
It Only Up from Here
The 2026 MILO® Champions League is a chapter closed but the story is far from over. The tournament continues to play a vital role in grassroots development across Ghana, inspiring Champs to stay active, believe in themselves, and embrace the values that help shape future leaders.
Because that is what MILO® has always believed: sport is a great teacher, and the values it instils in our children will help them succeed not just on the pitch, but in every chapter of their lives. That is what it means to raise champions.
